Peep-a-Palooza! @ North IRC Library
Submit your diorama:March 2nd - March 28th
Dioramas on display: March 30th - April 13th

We know you can’t resist the call of the Peeps—and the chance to create a marshmallow diorama masterpiece.

Here is our challenge to you:

Beginning Monday, March 2, 2015 make a diorama shoebox size featuring marshmallow peeps. Label your creation with theme/title, name and contact information.

All entries must be in by Saturday, March 28, 2015.

Dioramas will be on display and voting will begin on Monday, March 30, 2015.

Three winners will be announced on Monday April 13, 2015

Show us your Peep-a-Palooza masterpiece! Express your "Peepsonality" and have fun!


Easter Programs at the IRC Libraries

Friday, March 27th: 10:00am - Brackett Library
Monday, March 30th: 10:00am - North IRC Library
Tuesday, March 31st: 10:00am - Main Library


All easter programs will feature spring themed stories, songs, crafts, a parade and a visit by the Easter Bunny. Children should come dressed in their Easter Best.

Registration is not required. These programs are intended for 2 to 6 year olds.


Coffee House Concert at North IRC Library
Friday, April 10th: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Performer: Matthew Sabatella

With vocals, guitar, banjo and a wealth of traditional folk songs, Matthew Sabatella brings the story of the United States vividly to life. Along the way audiences enjoy folk songs, fiddle tunes, Old World ballads, work songs, sprituals, love songs, sea shanties, blues and more.

The evening will include poetry readings. Gourmet coffee and cookies will be served with donations accepted.

2nd Annual Teen Poetry Contest @ North IRC Library
April is National Poetry Month

Tell us what's on your mind. Write a poem and enter it in the contest to win a prize. Two poems in each age category will be chosen.

Ages for the categories are 11-14 and 15-18.

Your poem will be judged on creativity and style. Of course the contest must be suitable for all audiences. Your poems will be on display in the library through May.

Never-Ending Storybook Project @ Brackett Library

The Brackett Library has begun a pilot program for the The Never-Ending Storybook project. Elementary aged children are encouraged to participate by checking out one of the three Character Bags that comes with one of the three stuffed characters, its personality and history, and a copy of the story thus far and the materials needed to create your own page of the story.

Children are asked to continue the story in one or two paragraphs, take a photo or draw a picture of their character and return their addition to the book, as well as the rest of the packet to the Brackett Library within one week.
