The Indian River County Main Library is located in sunny Vero Beach which lies along Florida's east coast. Our collection consists of over 270,000 items including: books, magazines, newspapers, microfilm, CDs, books on tape, DVDs, video tapes and more. Peep-a-Palooza! @ North IRC Library
Submit your diorama:March 2nd - March 28th
Dioramas on display: March 30th - April 13th

We know you can’t resist the call of the Peeps—and the chance to create a marshmallow diorama masterpiece.

Here is our challenge to you:

Beginning Monday, March 2, 2015 make a diorama shoebox size featuring marshmallow peeps. Label your creation with theme/title, name and contact information.

All entries must be in by Saturday, March 28, 2015.

Dioramas will be on display and voting will begin on Monday, March 30, 2015.

Three winners will be announced on Monday April 13, 2015

Show us your Peep-a-Palooza masterpiece! Express your "Peepsonality" and have fun!


eBook Basics Class at Brackett Library
Friday, March 6th: 10:00am


This class will teach you how to checkout an eBook or Audiobook from the library's digital collection and get the item onto your device (Kindle, Nook, iPad, etc).

We will also show you how to search for the eBooks you want, and adjust the filters to show you only the itms you are interested in.

You may bring your own device with you but only the basics of each device will be covered.

The class will be held in the Bjorkman Room at the Brackett Library. Please call 772-226-3080 x4554 to register or send an email to ircmain@irclibrary.org.


Coffee House Concert at North IRC Library
Friday, March 6th: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Performer: Atlantic Bluegrass Band

Atlantic Bluegrass Band is a five piece band playing traditional bluegrass music with a few non-traditional novelty tunes, and some original music in the mix for variety.

The evening will include poetry readings. Gourmet coffee and cookies will be served with donations accepted.

Tea with Local Authors Live @ the Main Library
Sunday, March 15: 2:00pm


Featuring Betsy Horn, guest speaker on sleep, stress and sex. Betsy is a cancer survivor, former Ms Senior Florida and author of “A Little Touch of Cancer and How It Made Me Well.”

Nina Dockery currently teaches the Health HiLites program at the Library and wrote two romance novels “Once Again” and “Sexy at Sixty.”

Both women will speak on a variety of topics relating to health, healing and happiness.

Sisters, Glo and Fern, newly published authors of phenomenal photos and witty writings on man's (woman's) best friends titled “Captured…The Look of the Dog.”

Stop in and join us for a gathering of local talent, enjoy creative company, sip some tea and make new friends.



Live Candy Land @ the Main Library
Thursday, March 19th: 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Play the popular board game on our giant game board, where YOU are the game piece!

Bring your whole family for fun, treats and prizes!

Never-Ending Storybook Project @ Brackett Library

The Brackett Library has begun a pilot program for the The Never-Ending Storybook project. Elementary aged children are encouraged to participate by checking out one of the three Character Bags that comes with one of the three stuffed characters, its personality and history, and a copy of the story thus far and the materials needed to create your own page of the story.

Children are asked to continue the story in one or two paragraphs, take a photo or draw a picture of their character and return their addition to the book, as well as the rest of the packet to the Brackett Library within one week.
