The library will be closed on Monday, July 5th for Independence Day.

The Indian River County Main Library is located in sunny Vero Beach which lies along Florida's east coast. Our collection consists of over 270,000 items including: books, magazines, newspapers, microfilm, CDs, books on tape, DVDs, video tapes and more. We also provide access to the internet and many PCs loaded with software dedicated to helping you in your research.

Tickets are not required for any shows. However, all camps, schools, etc must make reservations if they would like to bring 10 or more children to a program.

Brackett Library Children's Special Guest Series
Mondays at 1:30pm at the Brackett Library.

All shows are appropriate for all ages.

Meet some friendly canines and learn how to properly take care of a pet in Florida.

Children's Summer Reading Incentive Program

Pick up a flyer today and start working on one of the three lists. After you complete each list, stop by the Children's Desk and receive a surprise. This is a fun program for 5 to 12 year olds to explore their Library and keep reading throughout the summer. Co-sponsored by The Pizza & Pasta House of Vero Beach.





Creative Characters for Teens

6th to 12th graders | Location: Multimedia Room @ the Main Library


June 17: Kick Off: Music Mixer
Featuring school bands, solo singers, dancers. Teens are invited to participate in open mike. Musicians please sign up now.

June 24: Drama & Games
Deep Impact members will introduce skits, improv, games & contests. Prizes. Interactive.

July 1: Great Debate
Love to argue?? Join us for a lively session debating teen topics. Choose to speak your mind 1 on 1, on teams or both. Teen judges also needed.

July 8: Creative Arts: Pictures & Poets
Participate in drawing, poetry, song-writing contests. Create greeting cards for your favorite occasion.

July 15: Halloween/Costume Party
Dress up & win prizes. Bring your best spooky story to share. On the menu: Witches brew.

July 22: Talent Show
Looking for the next Teen Idol! Join in singing, strumming, magic, comedy or wherever your talent leads you. Please sign up. Need Teen judges.

July 29: Karaoke & Pizza
End of summer celebration! Amateurs welcome. Step up to the mike & have some fun! Last day of Summer Sizzler.
