The library will be closing at 5pm at all branches on Wednesday, November 26th
and will remain closed on Thursday, November 27th
and Friday, November 28th for Thanksgiving.

Normal hours will resume on Saturday, November 29th.

The Gifford Branch of the Indian River County Library is located within the Gifford Youth Activity Center at 4875 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach. The library is open to the public and provides computer and Internet access. The collection is primarily for children and young adults up to High School.

Children's Holiday Arts & Crafts Festival @ North IRC Library
Saturday, December 6th : 10:00am - 12:00pm


A Children's Arts and Crafts Festival will be held at the North IRC Library on Saturday, December 6th from 10am until noon! Members of the GFWC Sebastian River Junior Woman's Club will be on hand to help youngsters make holiday crafts. Santa with his elves will pay a visit and parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.

 

The festival is free of charge, but canned goods for the local food pantry will be accepted.

Comedy Magician Steve Hart @ IRC Main Library
Sunday, December 7th : 2:00pm


Alert! Laughter ahead! Comedy Magician Steve Hart will tickle your funny bone on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 at 2pm at the Main Library in Vero Beach. He loves getting the audience involved as part of his show, creating magical moments of fun and laughter.

Steve has been working professionally for over 25 years as an eclectic entertainer for all ages. He has performed all over the U.S. and is a three time award winner, earning The Comedy Excellence Award at the International Battle of the Magicians. Steve has even hosted his own TV show!

A guaranteed crowd pleaser, Steve now lives in Palm Bay after working on cruise ships out of Cape Canaveral.

Don’t miss this fascinating fun event!! Feel free to bring sweets to share. Donations are appreciated.


Holiday Story Time @ North IRC Library
Tuesday, December 9th : 10:30am-11:30am


Two to eight year olds and their families are invited to join us for Holiday themed stories, songs, a craft and a visit by Santa himself!



The Polar Express Experience @ Brackett Library
Wednesday, December 10th : 6:00pm-8:00pm

Join us for a magical experience with Santa and his elves. Wear your pajamas and bring your imagination.

This program is designed for elementary aged children. Registration is strongly encouraged



Family Holiday Dance Party @ IRC Main Library
Thursday, December 11th : 6:30pm-8:00pm


Put on your dancing shoes and join us for dancing, games, crafts and a visit by Santa! Families of all ages are invited, though the games and crafts will be most enjoyed by four to eight year olds.


Never-Ending Storybook Project @ Brackett Library

The Brackett Library has begun a pilot program for the The Never-Ending Storybook project. Elementary aged children are encouraged to participate by checking out one of the three Character Bags that comes with one of the three stuffed characters, its personality and history, and a copy of the story thus far and the materials needed to create your own page of the story.

Children are asked to continue the story in one or two paragraphs, take a photo or draw a picture of their character and return their addition to the book, as well as the rest of the packet to the Brackett Library within one week.

Adopt-A-Shelf Program
