News and Upcoming Special Events:

2nd Annual Teen Poetry Contest @ North IRC Library
April is National Poetry Month

Tell us what's on your mind. Write a poem and enter it in the contest to win a prize. Two poems in each age category will be chosen.

Ages for the categories are 11-14 and 15-18.

Your poem will be judged on creativity and style. Of course the contest must be suitable for all audiences. Your poems will be on display in the library through May.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the North IRC Library.

Enter your poem before April 30, 2015. See rules and entry form here.

Never-Ending Storybook Project @ Brackett Library

The Brackett Library has begun a pilot program for the The Never-Ending Storybook project. Elementary aged children are encouraged to participate by checking out one of the three Character Bags that comes with one of the three stuffed characters, its personality and history, and a copy of the story thus far and the materials needed to create your own page of the story.

Children are asked to continue the story in one or two paragraphs, take a photo or draw a picture of their character and return their addition to the book, as well as the rest of the packet to the Brackett Library within one week.

For more information contact Hollie McDougall at 772-226-3080.

Adopt-A-Shelf Program

Love the library? Help us out and Adopt –A- Shelf. Volunteers donate time to keep one shelf of the library neat and tidy. Pick up a brochure at Brackett Library or call 772-226-3080 for more information.
