Winter Break Activities at IRC Library
December 22nd - January 2nd

All activities are going on throughout the day at the IRC Main, North County, and Brackett branches.

December 22nd: Lego Build-Off!

December 23rd: Movie Marathon
(movies will start at 10:30, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30 depending on Branch operating hours)

December 24th: Recyclable Creations

December 29th: Lego Challenge

December 30th: Craft Day

December 31st: Board Games

January 2nd: Movie Marathon

Spanish for Pre-Schoolers

Brackett Library

Mondays 10:00am - 10:45am : 3 to 5 year olds

Three to five year olds are invited to join Ms. Mariela as she teaches basic Spanish words and phrases.

This will be a multi-media class involving videos, songs, rhymes, art and more.

Registration is not required.

Story Times

IRC Main Library

Tuesdays 10:00am - 2 to 5 year olds

North IRC Library

Mondays 10:00am - 18 months to 3 years old

Tuesdays 10:00am - Baby story time

Tuesdays 11:00am - Pre-school

Brackett Library

Fridays 10:00am - 2 to 5 year olds

Story Times at the branches of the IRC Library System feature storytelling, creative dramatics, fingerplays, rhymes, song, dance and a simple craft.

Registration is not required.

Minecraft Club

IRC Main Library & North IRC Library

Mondays: 4:00pm to 5:00pm

Share and strategize with other enthusiasts of Minecraft, ages 8 to 12. Participants will be playing on a seperate Club-Only server simultaneously at both libraries.

Zumba for Kids!

North IRC Library

Mondays: 4:45pm-5:30pm

For ages 5 through 11. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes, sneakers, and bring a bottle of water.

Class runs from September 8th through November 17th.



3 - 6 year olds

Monday 10:00am - 10:45am

Thursdays 10:00am - 10:45am

A fun and educational health and fitness program for 3 to 6 year olds. Parents and older siblings may join in the fun. Registration is not required. Children must wear comfortable clothes and sneakers and bring a bottle of water.

Lego Club

1st - 5th graders

Thursdays 4:00pm - 5:00pm


North IRC Library

Tuesdays 4:30pm - 5:30pm


This is an informal build time for Lego enthusiasts in first through fifth grade. Legos are provided. They must not bring any from home.

Craft Hour (Gifford Library)

Gifford Library

Tuesdays: 4:00pm-5:00pm

Did you know the Gifford Youth Library, a small branch within the Gifford Youth Activity Center and right next to the Gifford Aquatic Center, is open Monday through Friday 1:00pm to 5:00pm?

Get rained out? Stop in and ask the librarian on duty for a rainy day craft. Rain not required

Crafts are available for kindergarten through 5th graders any time during open hours.


Baby Sign Language

IRC Main Library

Mondays 10:00am

The Sign Language classes are informal, fun and educational experiences for birth to two year olds and their families.

The programs focus primarily on rhymes and songs and learning of common sign language words and phrases.

Registration is not required for these programs.
