Kid's Summer Chess Club

A fun and educational health and fitness program for 3 to 6 year olds. Parents and older siblings may join in the fun. Registration is not required. Children must wear comfortable clothes and sneakers and bring a bottle of water.

Story Times at the branches of the IRC Library System feature storytelling, creative dramatics, fingerplays, rhymes, song, dance and a simple craft.

Registration is not required.

Baby Sign Language

The Sign Language classes are informal, fun and educational experiences for birth to two year olds and their families.

The programs focus primarily on rhymes and songs and learning of common sign language words and phrases.

Registration is not required for these programs.

IRC Library System Summer Reading Challenge

Take the Summer Reading Challenge and earn a chance to win some great prizes!

Keep track of how much time you spend reading each day. Over the course of the summer you only need to read for an average of 15 minutes a day to meet the challenge.

If you'd like to participate, pick up your starter packet at the Children's Desk of any branch. Your starter packet will include your reading log, stickers, bag and bookmark.

All who complete the program will receive a small award for their work and then be entered into a drawing to win other prizes

Kids Appreciation Night

Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents Day.... how about a day where the parents appreciate the kids? Join us for games, crafts and more to celebrate the kid in all of us.


Rainy Day Crafts

Did you know the Gifford Youth Library, a small branch within the Gifford Youth Activity Center and right next to the Gifford Aquatic Center, is open Monday through Friday 1:00pm to 5:00pm?

Get rained out? Stop in and ask the librarian on duty for a rainy day craft. Rain not required

Crafts are available for kindergarten through 5th graders any time during open hours.

Fizz. Boom. Read! Book Club

3rd - 5th graders

Activities, discussion, games and more. First three weeks of the program will focus on 'Timmy Failure' by Stephan Pastis, followed by Graphic Novels and Anime. Register by calling (772)-226-3080. Copies of 'Timmy Failure' graciously donated by AAA of Vero Beach
