Bethel Creek House of Refuge - Research by Pam Cooper that includes a timeline of all events abstracted from newspapers and other sources.

Bixler Dance Studio - Jackie and Edward Bixler came from Jackson, Michigan and moved to Vero Beach in 1969. This collection contains dance programs, theatre productions at Riverside and the Theatre Guild. There is a description of over 300 photographs from 1970-1997.

Boberg, Carl - 1933-1941 - Crab House, Crawford Fish Camp, Eastern Air Lines, Hurricane Harbor, Sebastian, Sockwell Seafood Company

Braddock Family - Guide to the content of folders in the vertical file and a list of newspaper clippings.

Building Registers: Vero Beach; Wabasso; Beachside; Sebastian

Carleton Family - Today, high on a bluff on the St. Sebastian River is the foundation of a home that was built by the John Carleton family in 1925.

Carlsward Family - Early pioneer family of Vero Beach. Collection was donated on CDs and contains over 200 photographs

Cemeteries of Indian River County (Brevard and St. Lucie) - Most were established early in the 20th century. This collection is meant to be a guide to the location and establishment of the cemeteries.

Caroline Cooper Photograph Collection

James C. Cooper Manned Spacecraft Collection 1960-2014 - Computer programmer for IBM, this collection was accumulated during his 30 years of association with NASA and the development of the space program. He began working in Houston, Texas in 1968 and retired 2000 from United Space Alliance at Cape Kennedy.

Cory's Child Care - 1969-2002 Also known as Kendall's Academy. There are over 300 photographs many are no identified.

Bryan Davis collection

Dawson Family 1884-1905 Early pioneer and planter. First public library was in their home on Gem Island. Their land is no longer there as it was cut off to make way for the Intracoastal waterway.

Dolphinettes - Founded in 1951 by Mildred Frasier Bunnell, the synchronized swimming group were teenage girls from Vero Beach High School. Their very successful tours ended in the early 1960s. This collection includes a scrapbook by Kristine Johnson.

Dominici Family - Research and photographs on Fellsmere pioneer, who was a salesman for the Fellsmere Farms company.

DuBose Collection - Photographs and newspaper clippings

Farmers Bank - 1914-1935 - Includes an alphabetical list of depositors as of the closing of the bank in 1935.

Fell Family - 1857-1987 - Over 1500 photographs were donated by descendants. This family was well known in Narcoossee, Osceola County and he was the founder of the Fellsmere Farms, a land company. World traveler to Kazakhstan, British Columbia, New Zealand and entrepreneur.

Florida State Turnpike Authority - 1956-1960 - photographs of preliminary highway survey work in Indian River County.

Florida Today Photographs - Photographs taken by staff of the "Florida Today" newspaper. All pictures are from the 1960s and 1980s except for copies of 1925 photos.

Forster, Frank - arrived from Germany in 1876 and lived in Kankakee County, Illinois. He evenually moved to the Narrows or Orchid Island about 1884. The Captain Forster's Hammock Preserve located on Jungle Trail was named after him.

Fort Vinton - Opened Oct-Dec 1849 after the Indian Scare of July 1849. Used as an outpost and rest stop for Fort Capron. Later re-opened for the Third Seminole War - most of the research was completed by Pam Cooper.

Friends of the Indian River County Library - 1967-Present

Gifford High School - Research papers including newspaper clippings from 1937 to the closing in1969. 33 1/3 RPM record of the Gifford High School band, which was digitized onto DVD

Haffield Family

Havens Family - (1600s-20th century) Four manuscript boxes of manuscripts donated by Ruth Acevedo. Contains research and original documents on numerous family lines.

Helseth Family - Research papers and family artifacts donated by family members. Family arrived 1896 and settled in Oslo.

Heritage Center - 1935-Present - Includes postcards, photographs, historical documents and ephemera.

Hernandez and Capron Trails - Research papers by Jim and Pam Cooper along with abstracts and copies from numerous resources.

Hill, Arthur Mayfield (Joel Dobbs Collection) - Photographs owned by the Arthur Hill family dated ca 1920s to 1950s. Includes U.S. Navy photographs in the Philippines during WW II. Also pictures of early Riomar homes and golf course.

Howard Family - Research papers and newspaper clippings of the John Howard family that arrived in Indian River County from Tennessee in 1916.

Indian River County Charter Government

Indian River County Historical Society Manuscripts - 17 boxes of local history collected by the historical society.

Indian River Shores

Korker, Korky - Fellsmere History - Photographs, ephemera and documents about the town of Fellsmere. Korker was a photographer and moved to Fellsmere in 1966. He collected and preserved many items of Fellsmere history.

Lewis, Homer Family - 1903-1996 - Constructed many homes and buildings in Indian River County for over 20 years.

Lockwood, Charlotte - first historian of Indian River County. Published "Florida's Historic Indian River County" in 1975. Many of her notes and some water-color drawings.

Los Angeles Dodgers - 50 years of research and photographs are included in two boxes.

Malcolm Collection - Contains historical Florida information from the late 1800s and early 1900s including steamship and railroad transportation. Travel brochures depic early hotels and describe the Indian River area.

Mayors of Fellsmere - Researched and organized by volunteer, Jan Gay of all mayors.

Mayors of Sebastian - Researched and organized by volunteer, Jan Gay of all mayors.

Mayors of Vero Beach - Researched and organized by volunteer, Jan Gay of all mayors.

McKee Botanical Garden - Formally re-opened November 2001.  The original McKee Jungle Gardens was closed in 1976 and more information can be found in that collection.

Mulkey Collection - Includes over 300 photographs: Marana Army Airfield in Arizona.

Nave Family - (1700s-2000) Family research by Mrs. Hilda Neff Smith who lived in Vero Beach. Seven manuscript boxes located in the family history area of the genealogy collection.

Nelson, George Glass Slide Collection - Over 2500 glass slides were scanned and are now available to view at the Archives. He was a preparator at Harvard College, but lived in Sebastian part time and died in Vero Beach 1962. Close friend of Paul Kroegel.

Parks of Indian River County

Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge - First National Refuge in the United States was designated by President Theodore Roosevelt, March 1903. Many of the items were collected and ordered through interlibrary loan. Research by Pam Cooper. The 100th anniversary event created many documents, flyers, and newspaper articles. Some items are in oversize.

Photograph Album - This album was left in the book drop at the library. It appears to be relatives of the Knight family.

Photographers of Indian River County

Riomar - A community located on the barrier island of Vero Beach. Residents were from Cleveland, Ohio and began settling and building homes in the early 1920s.

Roseland History - Research includes Trilby plantation and many of the early families. Newspaper clippings from 1880-1920. Roseland post office was established 1891.

Saltzwedel Collection - Extensive collection of Hans Saltzwedel who designed over 1000 plaques for courthouses and government buildings. They can still be seen today. Hans was born during the time of Nazi Germany and there are many interesting letters regarding this time period.

Schiavone Estate - Contains pictorial and news media coverage relevant to Indian River County Hospital from 1967 to 1984.

Sebastian History

Sexton Family - Early pioneer family of Vero Beach. Many local buildings are still standing that Waldo Sexton built.

Siewert, Walter Collection - Fellsmere History

Smith, Bruce Estate Collection - Postcards, ephemera from late 1890s to 2000 of Indian River County.

Tippin Family - Early pioneer family of Vero Beach.

Trimble, Frederick Collection - Architect of over 25 buildings in Indian River County including the Fellsmere School, Florida (Vero) Theatre, 14th Avenue city block and Farmer's Bank (Indian River Citrus Bank) as well as homes, and apartment buildings. He was an architect for over 200 buildings throughout southern Florida including many schools still standing today.
