Where is the law library located?
The law library is located on the first floor in the southeast section of the Indian River County Courthouse. (hyperlink a map)

What are the library's hours?
Monday- Friday
8:30 am to 12:00 noon
1:00 pm to  5:00 pm
Members of the local bar may apply for a special pass card which allows access at all hours.  Call Sgt. Volk at 770-5185.

Who may use our law library?
We are open to the general public.  Among our users are judges, attorneys, court employees, students, and the public at large.

Does the library have a photocopier for public use?
Yes. There is a coin-operated copier available.

Does the staff provide legal advice?
No.  Our staff is available to provide reference assistance; however, we are not practicing attorneys and cannot provide legal advice of any kind.  If you are seeking legal assistance and/or representation, you may contact one of the legal services:

Does the Library have a fax machine or word processors for public use?
No.  Due to equipment and budgetary constraints, our fax machine and word processors are restricted to staff use only.

Does the library have a public access computer for legal research?
Yes.  We have a PC equipped with access to the LOIS online database and access to law-related internet sites (under construction).
