Funds donated to the Indian River Genealogical Society in memory of Helen H. Nixon, a past officer and dedicated genealogist of the society, were used to purchase a study carrel, a VCR player, a cassette player and headphones to be used for listening and viewing of many lectures and instructional tapes on genealogy. This is a unique concept and more than likely cannot be found in any other library. Some of the videos are to help understand the Family Search Program, while others will provide various research methods. The library has a very extensive collection with a wide variety of topics. We will attempt to list some of them below.

Available are lecture cassette tapes from national conferences such as the Federation of Genealogical Societies and the National Genealogical Society.

CASSETTES:

"A Chesapeake Homecoming." National Genealogical Society. 1-5 June 1993. Baltimore, Maryland "Exploring A Nation of Immigrants." - The National Genealogical Society. 1-4 June 1994 Houston, Texas.
