Library science in Indian River County dates back to 1915 when the Vero Beach Woman's Club was established.  The original library was opened in 1916 in the Women's Club building located at 1534 21st Street in what is now known as the "Heritage Room." club2.jpg (90313 bytes)

Opened on February 1, 1991, today's modern main library anchors the downtown area of Vero Beach and acts as a beacon for the rediscovery of the community's roots.  Surrounded by 100-year old live oak trees, its quiet setting belies the wide-ranging activities of the library. mainlibr2.jpg (74405 bytes)
