This collection consists of photocopies of numerous written and published articles about the controversial Vero Man. Scientists could not agree on the age of the bones found in the Main Canal in Vero Beach. This has never been resolved until 2009. |

Although these Indians have no descendants and disappeared late in the 18th century, they did have contact with the English and Spanish who recorded their meetings in early colonial records. Many articles have been written about the Ais. |

The first House of Refuge in Florida was built on Bethel Creek by the U. S. Life-Saving Service. It was completed on February 28, 1876, taking less than 24 days. It burned down 1917. |
