Indian River County Main Library

The Archive Center provides a repository for preserving, organizing, cataloging, and showcasing Indian River County and Florida historical records and memorabilia.

April 2005, the Indian River County Historical Society donated to the Archive Center over 20 document boxes and 5000+ photographs, which have all been inventoried and preserved.

We welcome visitors to the Archive Center to use our holdings and discover the wealth of information available about Indian River County and Florida history.

About the Image:

The image (color added) on the right was in the possession of James Tippin, son of an early pioneer. When Indian River became a county 29 June 1925,  the wife of the first Mayor Andrew W. Young presented this banner to the new County Commissioners. The original has not been found.  [VBPJ, 2 Jul 1925, p. 1]
